About Anjuna Beach
Anjuna beach is situated 18 kms away from Panaji, adjacent to the Chapora fort. It was discovered by the hippies in 1950's – 1960's. Anjuna beach is one of the most beautiful and popular beaches in Goa. It is known as the ' freak capital of the world', because of the moonlit parties and the Flea market that makes it the most hip and happening beach of Goa.

It is breathtaking to see lovely white waves of Arabian sea lapping softly on the Indian shore. A worth visiting place.

Major Tourist attractions
Wednesday Flea Market Albuquerque Mansion
This Mansion was built in the year 1920, it has octagonal towers and an attractive Mangalore tile - roof.

Mascarenhas Mansion
It has some of the most elegant looking balconies and the finest of stained glass floral etching. The L- shaped seats of the monument along the length of the porch is of expensive wood.

The Chapora Fort
The Chapora fort gives a splendid view of the beach. It is well preserved except for a few ruins. The fort was built by the Muslim rulers before it was invaded by the Portuguese.

The Wednesday Flea Market
The Flea market held at Anjuna Beach in Goa every Wednesday is a major attraction. Anjuna Flea market is a huge market spread across the Anjuna beach wherein you will find just about anything to everything.

Beach Activities
The Acid house Party
Anjuna is also known for its full-moon (acid house) parties, held for and by young tourists. The trance party with dance, frolic, and merriment goes all night besides the fire, these parties attract thousands of tourists.

Other activities include swimming and water sports like Parasailing, Windsurfing, Yachting etc.

Getting There
Air: The Dabolim airport is 47 kms from Anjuna beach.
Rail: The Karmali railway station is 29 kms from Anjuna .
Road: There are buses that arrive Anjuna from Mapusa (8 kms). Buses can also be taken from Panaji, which is just 18 kms away from Anjuna. Motorcycles and Taxis are also available for hire.

Accommodation
There are many guest houses and hotels around the village. For longer stay one should look out for houses that are available for rent.
